Some of you with fruit trees have either NO fruit at all! or have trees weighed down with fruit! Weird weather we had this year probably to blame, any way I think swopping fruit might be a good idea! ie if your neighbour has lots of apples and you have plums......?
Otherwise, go to your local flea market (Village Hall) or the Saturday Coffee Morning which usually has a stall with produce on.
Anyway, here are some recipes for jam and chutney:
Jam usually consists of 1 part fruit to 1 part sugar. I only ever use the cheapest granulated sugar, for low pectin fruits like strawberries I add redcurrant juice ; 1 tablespoon per 1 lb fruit. or lemon juice for other low pectin fruit.
